Ada Diya Masor Jul (Fish Cooked in Ginger Juice)


  • 4 pieces fish
  • 1 medium potato, cut lengthwise
  • 2 tbsp fresh ginger juice
  • 1/2 tsp nigella seeds
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp mustard oil

Method –

  1. Rub salt and turmeric powder on the fish pieces and potato slices
  2. Heat oil in a wok
  3. Lightly fry the fish pieces and then the potato pieces and set aside
  4. In the same oil(add a little more if necessary), add nigella seeds, dry red chillies, the rest of the turmeric powder and salt to taste
  5. Add the potatoes and fresh ginger juice
  6. Bring to boil and then add 1/2 cup hot water
  7. Let it come to boil
  8. Lower the heat, add fish and cook covered for about 4-5 minutes
