Lai Xaak Bhaji (Mustard Greens Stir Fry)


  • 4 bunches of lai xaak
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, roughly pounded
  • 2 green chillies, slit
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsp mustard oil

Method –

  1. Chop the lai xaak finely and wash well. Drain the lai Xaak till all the water drains out
  2. Heat mustard oil in a kadhai
  3. Add garlic
  4. After a few seconds, add onion and green chillies
  5. Sauté till onion turns golden
  6. Add the lai Xaak, add turmeric powder, stir for about 2 minutes
  7. Cover with lid, reduce the heat and.
  8. Once the Xaak is cooked and water absorbed, add salt
  9. Stir for 2 minutes and switch off the flame
