

Ingredients–
- 18 dates
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp chopped walnuts
Method –
- Soak the dates in warm milk
- Microwave for a few seconds so that the dates become soft
- Remove the seeds
- Add sugar and grind them to a smooth paste along with the milk it was soaked in
- Add oil and mix
- Sieve together flour and baking soda
- Add the flour in batches and mix slowly
- Add the nuts and mix
- Preheat the oven to 180°C
- Bake the cake in a greased oven proof dish for 35-40 minutes, or till a knife inserted into the cake comes out clean
