Tandoori Chicken


  • 2 lbs bone in chicken, preferably drumsticks
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp thick yogurt
  • 1.5 tbsp tandoori masala
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Chaat masala for sprinkling

Method –

  1. Make deep horizontal cuts on all sides of the chicken pieces
  2. Marinate with salt, ginger garlic paste and juice of 1 lemon for 2 hours
  3. After 2 hours, squeeze out the juice from the chicken and set the chicken aside
  4. In a bowl, mix yogurt, mustard oil and tandoori masala
  5. Rub the mix all over the chicken and marinate for 2 hours
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for 20 minutes
  7. Flip the chicken pieces, baste with butter and bake for another 10 minutes
  8. Serve with a sprinkle of chaat masala, onion and lemon wedges
