Cabbage Foogath


  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumins seeds
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 6 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 3 dry red Kashmiri chillies
  • 1/2 cabbage, finely shreddef
  • 2 green chillies, chopped optional
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • A pinch of sugar

Method –

  1. Heat oil in a pan
  2. Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter
  3. Add cumin seeds
  4. Once the seeds sizzle, Add the garlic and red chillies
  5. Add onions and fry till soft
  6. Add cabbage, green chillies, sugar and salt
  7. Sprinkle water about 3-4 tbsp only
  8. Cover the pan and cook till cabbage is done
  9. Add coconut and cook for another couple of minutes
