
Ingredients–
- Ol Kopi (Kohlrabi) – 400 gm
- Potato – 2 medium
- Green chilli – 3, slit
- Ginger paste – 1 heaped tsp
- Cumin powder – 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder- 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Bay leaf – 1
- Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste
- Mustard oil – 4 tbsp
Method–
- Peel the kohlrabi and cut small cubes. If it smells pungent, it can be parboiled. Set aside
- Cut the potato in small cubes and set aside
- In a bowl, mix ginger paste, cumin and coriander powders with a little water
- Heat mustard oil in a wok and fry potatoes lightly. Drain on absorbent paper and set aside
- In the same oil, add cumin seeds and bay leaf
- When the seeds splutter, add the spice paste and stir till aromatic
- Add kohlrabi and potatoes and sauté for 3-4 minutes
- Add turmeric powder and mix well
- Add warm water to cook the curry
- Add slit chillies
- Cover with lid, reduce heat to medium and cook till almost done
- Add sugar and garam masala powder and mix well
- Cook for another 5 minutes
- Check the consistency of the gravy and serve
