
Ingredients–
- 1 raw papaya
- A fistful of masoor dal (red lentils)
- 1” piece of ginger
- 2-3 green chillies
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- 1/4 tsp soda bicarbonate
- 1/2 tsp panch phoran
- 1-2 dry red chilli
- 2 cups of water
- Salt to taste
- Chopped coriander leaves
Method–
- Chop the papaya into small pieces
- Wash and soak the dal for 15 minutes
- Grate the ginger and mince the garlic
- Heat oil in a wok
- Add panch phoran, dry red chilli and grated ginger and minced garlic
- Fry for a few seconds
- Add the papaya and dal
- Add salt and soda bicarbonate and stir fry for 5 minutes
- Add water, cover with a lid and cook till soft
- Add green chillies and coriander leaves
- Drizzle with 1/2 tsp raw mustard oil
