
Ingredients–
- 1.5 cups chire (flattened rice)
- 1 medium sized boiled potato
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tbsp peanuts
- 1 tbsp cashew nuts
- 1 tsp raisins
- 1 medium sized onion, chopped finely
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp ghee
Method –
- Wash the flattened rice thoroughly and drain in a colander
- Dice the potatoes into small cubes
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan
- Add cumin seeds and fennel seeds
- Sauté for a few seconds
- Add the peanuts and fry on high flame for 1 minute
- Add cashew nuts and raisins and sauté for 30 seconds
- Add boiled potatoes and fry on high flame for 2 minutes
- Add onion and fry for 2 minutes on high flame
- Add turmeric powder, salt and fry on high flame for 2 minutes
- Now, add sugar, sprinkle some water and fry on high heat for 1 minute
- Add the flattened rice. Stir and mix for 2-3 minutes
- Switch off the flame
- Add ghee, mix well
- Cover the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving
