Fresh Cherry Cake


  • 1.5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 125 gm butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup fresh pitted cherries
  • A pinch of salt

Method –

  1. Sieve the flour, salt and baking powder a few times
  2. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar thoroughly
  3. Add the vanilla essence
  4. Add the flour in batches along with the milk
  5. Mix well
  6. Add half of the cherries to the mix
  7. Pour the cake mix into a prepared pan
  8. Sprinkle the remaining cherries on top
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 45 minutes
